Dingoo anyone?

I just ordered this little beast today. I've always wanted a dedicated handheld emulation machine but they were always more than I wanted to spend. This thing looks fairly awesome and small too- a bit bigger than a GBA Micro.

It has the emulators installed. Supposedly does GBA and NES great, SNES spotty and Genesis not good (The system is still really new so there is room for improvement). It also does the usual PMP functions -movies, music, etc. Comes with 4 gb and a mini SD slot plus video out.

Not bad for $85.

Yeah I'll be getting that I think.

edit: I was correct, I did in fact order one. :P
You're 2/2 in selling me mini devices lately.

Duuuuuuuude - http://wiki.gp2x.org/wiki/Main_Page

They aren't much more and have pretty much flawless emu, though it's a little bigger.

I'm waiting for the Pandora, which will do all the emulators, powerful enough to run Quake3, has standard digital controls , dual analogue, keyboard, touch screen- it's gonna be a true handheld gaming PC.

$300+,but you gotta pay for quality.

I looked at the GP2X but it is much bigger and I couldn't find one. Plus they are 2X more expensive. It is just for futzing around so no need for an investment.

I hear good things about Pandora but it's a ways off.

I'll let you all know my impressions.

You know, GBA Micro + a good flash card will do the same thing as Dingoo, but I'm sure Dingoo will get better as more people develop for it.

How far off is Pandora? It's hard getting solid information on it using google. And from what I understand, they're gonna be really hard to get a hold of. I may order a GP2X Wiz.....

edit: Just watched a bunch of youtube videos on the Dingoo and Wiz....both have a ton of pros and cons, and a GBA Micro + Flash isn't nearly as good as a dingoo like I said.....

Damn, I want one of them, but they're so split.

Yeah a 400+ MHz cpu alone in one of these little things means a lot, as far as what it can do with emulation and video.
Should be fun.

That is kind of where I was so I went with cheaper and smaller.

Yeah me too. The price and size sold me pretty quick.
I can't wait to go to random places near kids who see it and ask what system it is. Then I can look scared and say "****, I forgot this wasn't supposed to be seen by the public" and put it away. Don't tell your friends...but it's the Nintendo SS that's coming out in a few months. I have candy in my van"

I ordered me a Dingoo, black. (just found out I over paid my credit card by $200 some how)

Now, if the older GP2Xs have near perfect emulation with stuff like MAME and Genesis, in time Dingoo should only be better, correct?

Cuz doesn't the Dingoo have double the CPU speed and Ram of the pre-Wiz GP2X?

It's an emulation machine after all. Oh I see what you did there.
You already made that joke.

Why not just buy a flash card for ds... can play gba, snes, nes roms, and has multimedia homebrew apps.

I actually have a flash cart and it's awesome. I got Colecovision, NES, SCUMMVM games and some other stuff on it.

I just think a smaller, more dedicated machine with a stronger CPU's got potential.
