Anyone picking this up? Was sceptical about how well the transition to the DS would work but it's been picking up glowing reviews across the board. I'm not one for giving too much weight to scores, but it's currently sitting at 95% at Metacritic to give you a general indication.

Mmmm I knocked this game in the other thread for it's visuals, and different style from the GTA iv'e grown used to (and bored of). But with a scores like this I will definitley have ot give it a look.

The latest trailer has raised my interest in the game. I might pick it up down the road.

I just got it yesterday and I've only played a little bit of it. It's probably the most graphically impressive DS game I've ever seen. It plays really, really good too.

WHy ? it looks like an evolved version of the original games.

played it at EB. Was surprisingly awesome. They used the touched screen very well.

I am thinking about getting this. For some reason I feel like a stream lined GVAIV would be perfect for me. BTW when they say the game is in Liberty City can you still see NYC in the details?

I'm glad to see positive impressions.
Think I'm gonna pick it up, it's been a while since I used my DS, it's always fun to come back from the DS layoff and pick up some stuff I missed.

We used to say, "let's play Atari," "Nintendo," or "Sega."
We don't play Microsoft and Sony. The Apocalypse!

This is the best GTA since III, IMO.

I never really got into VC, SA, IV and the City Stories games. They're good games, but I lost interest after 5 or so hours and never went back.

The look/style is great, and it's locked at 60 frames which is weird (in a good way) for a GTA game.

That's part of it's charm but also it's bane for me. I'm too used to the way GTA plays now. Back when 3 came I complained about the change too, but loved it after I put that aside (it was also ugly, even by ps2 standards at the time). This one is ugly, and bizarre mix betweeen old and new.

I played a bit at Gamestop though too, and yes, it is pretty intriguing. Not enough to buy it yet, but more impressed htan I thought I was. I must say it looks better in person than it does on screenshots. Didn't like the driving so much though.

This is pretty intriguing, and I am interested to try it. I am always skeptical about gta titles

This is by far the best GTA game, IMO.

It's got the best side-missions, and most variations of ways to get money. And most of them are neat little stylus mini-games. The controls, the look/style and isometric view, your fake iPhone (one feature that's vastly superior over IV's cell phone) - everything about this game rocks.

Only thing I don't like is how sometimes stuff over head like trains or big ass signs can make your car disappear for a split second, but it's a minor problem and hasn't got in the way yet.

I don't know what it is, but the game keeps getting better and better. I'm only about 10% complete now...probably played about 5 hours. This is gonna be the first GTA I complete since III.

Cool to know. I like the hybrid sytle of the old and new school GTAs and the economy gaming sounds fun.
