So when do you think the DS LiteR will be out?

yeah you probably heard the rumors, probably what you dont know is it is mostly the exact same rumor from last year and they were planning to release the new version last february if the rumor had turned out correct.

anyway they are obviously going to release it eventually but not until the NDS Lite sales go down, it would be shooting themselves in the foot otherwise.

here is some more things for me to talk about:
1. no GBA slot, a lot of whiney punks complaining about that, and it is true that there are a million GBA games that are great and still worth playing but that is what either your current DS Lite is for, or if you want the superior GBA experience get a GBA Micro, you dont know how great those are since you never tried one.

2. thinner, this is the main thing i want, the NDSLite is small but still way too big and clunky to carry in your pocket 24/7 like i do my GBAM.

3. larger screen, this part i am not too fond of since it will decrease the dot-pitch of the screen and make it look more pixelated and junky. i hope they get higher quality screens to make up for that. they should make them smaller, smaller screen work wonders for the GBAM screen idea.

4. built in memory, I am indifferent! unless some really cool use for it shows up.


so when do you think they will release the thing? i am thinking next spring maybe March, same time of year the GBA SP was released and a few other handheld versions released.

I think they should hold off until next holidays, or possibly Q1 09.

I think they should just concentrate on a DS-2 instead of making me keep buying the same thing.

Well I never said they have to bring it out right away, but they are obviously spending engineering money on a redesign of the DS (if there is one) when that can be used to make the DS-sequal better than it could be, even if it is in another 3-5 years.

they probably have a B Team working on minor hardware revisions like this and the A Team works on the new stuff.

You guys suck! saying "wait until next holidays" i still just have my fatty DS and i hate it, if i have to wait until next year i will probably be forced to get a Lite in the mean time and that is a waste of money since i know the Lite is too fat too.

I still have my fatty DS and I like it. I had a Lite but returned it because I didn't like it for certain picky reasons that no one notices.

i think there is such a thing as too thin, about a quarter inch is probably the thinest it should be and still be fairly easy to hold. also no new word on this new DS of course.

I want a new Nintendo portable, not a, yet again, upgraded version of the DS, thats what the DS Lite was for, and no GBA slot? Big Downgrade.

You still play GBA games ? I finished all mine except like 3 that I don't care to play. If I really really want to play GBA I'll just bust out my old GBA SP...it still works. I do need a new DS though -- damn hinge broke on me a couple months ago, superglue works okay but it's a constant necessity, but then this holiday, my sister was playing and went to shut it off but the power switch broke meh -- Nintendo wants 80 bucks to fix it since it's out of warranty so I don't really want to spend that, I'll just buy a new black one...if these mofo stores ever get one in stock (never was happy with the white).
