DS Dead Pixel Dilema

So my first DS had some blue dots on the top screen. I took it back. My new one has one single red dot on the touch screen.

While it doesn't effect play, I can see it.

Should I take it back again? Does everyone have a dead pixel? I thought it was going to be rare, but at this point I'm afraid to trade it in and get one with a worse pixel problem.

How many of you have had dead pixels? I mean is it 1 in 10, or 5 out of 10?!

My first DS didn't get any, thank goodness. When I bought a DS Lite (and owned it for about 2 hours), it did have a dead pixel, which was my excuse for returning it rather than other bitching things.

But yeah, dead pixels are fairly common...if I were in your position and was able to easily take it back and get a new one, I would.

Mine has no dead pixels. I've only owned one.

My original DS has none, and my DS Lite has none. Pretty lucky.

If you can return, then I'd say go for it.

Yeah definitely return it. There's no need to put up with that.

My DS Lite has a speck that looks kinda like a stuck pixel on the top screen, but it's only visible when the screen is black and it's not really that obvious.

I own the original DS (platinum) as well as a DSlite (black). None have any kind of pixel problems at all on any screen.

I wonder if it's a batch/shipment problem since you have two out of two with problems. Although it's not that big of a deal I would still take it back.

I don't see any problem with taking it back again, though it really depends on how high your tolerance is for returning products repeatedly. Maybe you can go to different stores in the same chain...

I've purchased 4 DS systems for one reason or another, and 2 of them have had pixel problems. One was from an online importer that expressly forbade returns due to dead pixels, so I was stuck with that one. But the resolution of the DS is lower than that of the PSP, so I wouldn't tolerate even a single defective pixel.

For comparison's sake, I've bought 3 PSPs, and all three have had at least 3 stuck pixels. Because the resolution is finer, a few pixels don't bother me that much, but I got one recently that has a small cluster of them, so it's going back.

I talked with someone in Gamestop, apparently Nintendo doesn't consider dead pixels a product defect. After it gains, or starts with three dead pixels, then it's a defect. My first one when I bought it didn't have any dead pixels, but it gained one in the end of it's life with me (trade in). My DS lite doesn't have any, and I hope it never wil.

Holy crap. I needs a new Siggie.
