Hey I saw this tonight at Best Buy. You could get the media dock for like $30. I was curious if anyone had this?

It says it plays MP3s, could view movies and has the ability to run homebrew games. I tried finding some reviews on the net, but they all seem pretty dated, back when this thing cost $200 or so. I saw the 2GB version at Best Buy for 60-80 (Can't recall exactly) but it looked interesting.

Please if anyone knows anything, help me out. I'd mostly use it for MP3s and Homebrew stuff, but I don't want to get something that's too complex or glitchy.

Thanks.

You kidding me? i didn't think a company like Best Buy would resort to gutter-sh!t tactics like spambots.

The reviews are dated because the product is dated. I'd go by what those say.

Edit: Thread unlocked, Mr. Odbjbg isn't a spam-bot. He's a real live person who happens to shop at Best Buy. 20,000 MOpoints have been deducted from Chin's account for his accusation.

Sorry to keep bumping. But incase anyone comes in, I'm not a spambot and AM looking for info on the Max Media Player.

I appreciate what you said Scooter, but by dated I mean a lot of them are just posts like "I just got the product, it does this and that, still trying to figure stuff out" but there doesn't seem to be anyone updating saying "Hey this is cool" or whatever.

I realize that may sound like it's a bad product, but the pricepoint seemed to be a negative some people spoke of, and I'm just curious if anyone has one. I figured with so many DS gamers here maybe someone would have a more honest review.

And thanks for unlocking my thread.

Hey, all he was missing was a link to their website, and besides, I got more MOpoints than you anyway.

There...there aren't really MOpoints are there? Please tell me I just made that up. I mean...what would we even spend them on since there's no MOstore? Unless...

Anyway, Oddbeh...Odebej...I'm just gonna call you Odie from now on. Anyway, I was digging around looking for stuff on the Max Media for DS and didn't see anything negative. But, here's the thing, you could get a decent MP3 Player with video playback for under $100 if you shop around.

Are you sure you want to use your DS for that? Also, you could spring for a used PSP.

For 30 bucks what have you got to lose? At worst it's a serviceable MP3/portable movie player.

I've been eyeballing the same thing at GameStop lately. I don't know if it's worth trying. I keep hoping someone there will buy it to let me know how it is, but it's been three months, and I'm not a step closer to the truth. When I get some money I might try it out. Sorry I'm no help, but at least this helps me some.

Holy crap. I needs a new Siggie.

total clickage.

edit: Hmmm.. That's not the same one I've been seeing in the gamestop locally. I'll have to get the exact name and seek it out. good info though. Worried about "possibly damaging my ds" though. That's... eh.. not right.

Where can I find a decent mp3 player with video player for under $100?

I think it was called the Clix? I saw it at Best Buy.

The one I've seen at GameStop is the Max Media Launcher for the DS lite. I haven't looked up any reviews for this one though. Since it's for the DS lite, I'm wondering if they might've fixed the problem with the previous version.

Holy crap. I needs a new Siggie.
