Did I not see you say somewhere that you've played the Japanese version? Or was that someone else?

Just a note that we had to pull our Contact review. We accidentally put it up a little early

It'll be back up the 17th.

Yeah but being it a japanese RPG and I don't speak no languages, I didn't play it much.

I heard the storyline is great, so I'll be picking it up.

Already paid it off at EB. Now just have to wait for it to come in... and then for the free time to start it up.

I'm excited about this one, too. I've been waiting impatiently ever since I heard about it.

So, anybody else pick this up? I got there when they were unloading their shipment today, and had to wait around a bit, but finally, this damnable game is mine.

Played about two hours, and so far, seems like it could be a fun ride. Strange little game, for sure, as the beginning sort of doesn't tell you anything, you just get drug into the story.

Anyhow, I'll save a more in depth impression for when I've put some more time into it. Definitely one of the stranger DS titles I've played, but the full-on stylus control is sweet, and you can play traditionally, as well. My one gripe so far is that the areas are not all that huge, but I'm only on the third area. Perhaps they get larger as you progress, we'll see.

It's just nice to finally have a decent RPG on the DS. The only game that's been even moderately good IMO is Lost Magic, while games like Lunar have hovered just above bad. Contact looks to be a good time, although I'm starting to wonder about replayability.

Just got it, but got some homework to do by midnight, so don't know when I'll get around to playing it (like I said earlier in the thread).

Love the back of the box, though.

Play the game for a bit, get through the opening stuff, THEN read the manual. You'll feel rewarded.

Once you have time, of course.

I will be available for populating your various islands once you Modojoers get around to picking this thing up.

Oh, and as far as impressions go, the game really opens up about halfway through the third area. I was worried at first, but as I figured a few things out, the game sorta just 'popped' for me. Fun stuff, and all put together pretty damn well.

Now we'll just have to see exactly HOW short it is.

Just picked this up tonight, and about an hour in I'm finding it quite enjoyable. The battle mechanics could get old, but the game is just so darn lovingly crafted it's hard to look at any of its bad points. Even the box art is fun and cute in a good way.

note: The prof apparently loves playing pong! Take a look at his computer monitor if you don't believe me

I'm not really sure if I'll get the game yet (If I do, may not be for another month, despite being on sale at Fry's). But, one thing I find very interesting about the game is, it's the first JRPG I know of, where the main character has the same first name as me, which is pretty cool.

Rarely post these days.
