Came yay close to punching a GameStop employee today.

So when Kirby came out I traded in a bunch of crappy games I got cheap. All in all I got like 70 bucks and I got Kirby, Star Ocean III and put 13 bucks on Meteos. Well I got home and a day later I decided to take SO3 back and pay off Meteos. I get there with the unopened box (the outer box was opened), and the *** there was like "We cant take this back since it was new and its not our product, and if it was used wed be able to, we can exchange it", I was like "It says on here I can RETURN the game within 30 days if its unopened and I have the receipt, which I fulfilled" and he looks at the top and says "its open", to which I reply "You asshats do that here, is it some sort of loophole youre trying to catch me in? Pull out the box, the game is sealed." and he starts to get mumbly about it, and I was like "look man, Im putting it towards Meteos so you arent losing any cash, just shifting it, so regardless of what bullshit policy you are trying to enforce, I just want my preorder paid off", and hes like "Ok I guess we can do that."

And that assclown wonders why I dont preorder or anything. All these game store manager ****s annoy the piss out of me.

From what Ive tended to notice, is that if the manager is between 28-45, he is going to be a total ass. Younger than that he (or she), will be cool, and older than 45 he will be awesome, cause he/she probably owns the place. I think its cause those middle-aged balding guys are depressed to have such a dead end job, while younger guys know they are going to college or have hope for getting another job. This is just from what ive noticed though. I have seen some young managers be *******s, but usually you can push em around a little and theyll drop it.

Good you got to trade that **** in though.

I don't shop at gaming stores. I hate everything about their policies and their stupid crap. I'd rather be shot than to trade any games in.

Yep, the age thing is definitely true. I mean if I'm over 25 and stuck in a job like that I'd kill myself too, and over that well... obviously he's got SOMETHING going on in life.

I'd love to work in a games store and actually like... be a cool employee. I've maybe met one. You know, the guy who actually knows his sh*t but doesn't like geek out and embaress you by being over the top.

Although by it's very nature gaming is geeky Ahhh, Halo 2 midnight launch memories.

I hate when people expect that I will be preordering bullshit games I have no intention of getting til later.

Wanna preorder San Andreas?

No.

You already have it preordered?

No.

What are you crazy?

No.

Dude, here, let me put Gradius V back on the shelf and put this towards San Andreas.

I dont want San Andreas, I want Gradius.

Your Loss man.

Not really.

Its only 5 bucks to preorder it.

*slits wrists*

So true. I even thought I had a secret weapon, I was going to enquire what date a game came out I think it was Jade Empire... I didn't really feel like pre-ordering (there was no bonus for it here, the special edition just came out) Just wanted to know what time it was coming out then get it at my leisure. Anyway he's like "You wanna pre order, it's going to be big!" I'm like "Nah, I'm not sure if I want to get it or not". Conversation over?

NO

The *****er was all like "Yeah well you don't have to get it, you can just move the pre order cash to another game afterwards!"

WHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYY

I try and buy my games at random other shops now just to punish them for stupidity.

The guys who work at the EB I go to are pretty cool. Don't try to push any crappy deals on you.

The place I go to during school is a Gamestop in Paducah. This guy there started chatting with me after I bought a game there. He's pretty cool. Their entire staff seems likeable, but I'm betting it is because they all go to school and aren't just stuck in that job.

I just hate Gamestop. It doesn't surprise me because my Gamestop's are the same way. That's why I buy most all my games at EB, since they give me no trouble and I know the managers well at every EB in my area.

People who work in stores like that are usually socially retarded. I encountered more **** like that when I was trying to build my computer. People like that need more diversified hobbies.

Yeah right, my EB is an absolute nightmare compared to my Gamestop (who actually have intelligent employees)

EB is all brand new games out the last 2 months and used, thats IT. PC selection sucks, and you can't find any older console games not used.

Plus they pester you for everything.

Gamestop down the hall has a much better supply and is a much better environment people wise.

I don't normally go to EB or GS, myself. Almost any game I buy, is usually used anyway, and usually off these forums. Which means it's always in good condition, so no problems yet.

Although, I've gone into EB a few times in the last year to sort of play 'catsh-up' with a few games here and there. The people at the EB I go to aren't that bad, I don't talk to them, but they didn't really try to push anything on me either. I think it's the way I walked in and knew what the hell I was looking for, not giving them time to formulate a plan to suck money out of me.

I hate the policies of game stores, they are created to screw you over. I wanted to trade in my DS so I could get the blue one. I called Gamestop, EB, and Gamecrazy, all offer a measly 80 fulucking dollars. So I still have a silver one. And you can forget about competitive prices in any of these places.

God Blessa!
